Class II amalgam failure for a dear retired colleague who requested that we make his tooth #likeavirgin again.
The distal marginal ridge could not be constructed using a Garrison sectional matrix as the M contour of the second molar impinged on proper placement without crimping. An Omnimatrix was used with significant wedging force and a contact was successfully created, old school style. The amalgam staining was mostly neutralized using successive microlayers of Kerr Herculite Ultra flowable.
