Amalgams can cause cracks in teeth and stain the dentin, leading to both a functional and esthetic impairment. This case shows a Large Class II carious lesion restored using the original supercomposite, Voco Grandio SO. Did I need to dovetail on the occlusal surface of tooth 28? Nope. Sorry, just wanted to have a little mechanical retention form in there for long term performance.
