Replacement of old composite restorations due to marginal breakdown and recurrent caries cervically. Matrix-in-matrix technique demonstrated here first on the second bicuspid building up the M marginal ridge before switching the Garrison sectional band to the distal aspect with the Compositight 3D tension ring. Following completion of this tooth, a fresh Garrison sectional matrix assembly was placed to reconstruct the D marginal ridge of the first bicuspid. Microlayers aimed to minimize shrinkage stress on the resin dentin interface as well as to opacity the more chromatic affected dentin.
A single shade of the supercomposite, A2 Voco Grandio SO was used in conjunction with Final Touch brown tint to bring the restoration to life.
