This DSD-guided case was completed utilizing a minimally-invasive approach to camoflage congenitally-missing lateral incisors. The orthodontist had mesialized both canines with asymmetrical spacing.
Of the canines, tooth #11 was endodontically-treated previously with a darkened crown-root complex. This necessitated intracoronal bleaching over 5 weeks before an acceptable value was reached.
Surgically, the “new” canine zeniths were apicalized using the Gemini Evo dual-wavelength Superpulsed laser on Gingivectomy mode (0.9W Superpulsed). Crestal sounding was completed and biologic width re-established using a transsulcular ostectomy approach using the Kois Bakeman Wedelstaedt chisel. Hemostasis was achieved using Viscostat Clear and Ultrapak retraction cord #00. The surface was decontaminated using a solution of 15% EDTA (aq) before conventional etching, 2% CHX (aq), bonding.
