Subgingival root abrasion lesions are ones that most definitely require excellent (absorbtive) retraction to treat successfully. One of the benefits I like about using retraction cord is its ability to become “inundated” with adhesive during the “scrubbing” process with the multiple layers of bond – when cured, this essentially becomes that hermetic “seal” until your restoration is complete. The risk for Class V’s is not only oral humidity, but definitely cervical.
