Zirconia Implant Access Closures // Considerations:
^ Both phosphates from saliva as well as phosphoric acid contaminate zirconia preventing any form of adhesive attachments.
^^ Modes of phosphate removal:
i) Air particle abrasion (27-29 micron Al2Cl3)
ii) Katana Cleaner (MDP-salt based solution that magnetically attracts phosphates)
iii) Ivoclean (supercharged Zr particles in solution that also draws phosphates towards itself)
^MDP primer is required for chemical bonding to Zr as part of Blatz’s APC protocol
Clearfil Ceramic Primer (Kuraray Noritake) or G-MultiPrimer (GC) are options
Restorative used: Clearfil Majesty ES-2 Universal U (single shade chameleon composite)
