The difficult things I encounter with adding to old resin restorations on a darkened, previously traumatized tooth is:
1) Dehydration of the adjacent teeth
2) Partial reduction instead of comprehensive removal
3) The need to try to bond to the old resin matrix (MDTP/MDP) and silica in the old composite (10-MPS) to establish a chemical linkage in addition to micromechanical via micro air abrasion (27 micron aluminum oxide)
Shades used: Clinicians Choice A1D, B0.5E, ENC, white tint.
