The reasons for sensitivity relative to restorations has much to do with establishing a well-hybridized link to dentin. In this case, marginal leakage was subtle, but the chronic infiltrant was responsible for hypersensitivity of this region. One can see how deep and unbonded the base layer was against the pulpoaxial wall.
