Shallow Class I replacement on this lovely patient due to marginal failure. It is important to use a silane coupling agent that contains MDP in situations where a bulk of composite is remaining, in order to maximize the chemical coupling of the new resin to the old resin via the silica particles. The MDP will have a chemical bond to both Type I collagen as well as hydroxyapatite.
