This case featured palatal lesions on teeth 9, 10 and erosive wear on 9-11 due to a likely adapted friction/constricted chewing envelope case exacerbated by environmental factors. Enameloplasty of the opposing teeth was necessary to ensure harmonious, interference free envelope of function where material was added on the palatal. We want the lower arch to always “Float in like a butterfly” according to Kois. Not a spastic butterfly. Spastic butterflies create abnormal tooth wear and problems.
